OVERDUE
An international student is forced to raise 90K dollars in a week in order to stay in America for her dream college, which propels her to operate an underground ghost-writing college essay business in her high school. Written by Eva Zheng and directed by Kimberly Caicedo.
The smartest 17-year-old you'll ever. A savvy, cunning, and-professional mastermind, driven by a hunger for cash. Shulan struggles to fit into her expensive private high-school and get the money she needs to attend college.
Shulan Lin

High school advisor. Vitriolic and self-centered. She seems to have the sweetest on her face smile when she gives you advice but doesn't actually care to help. During her conversations with Shulan we see her lack of understanding and care for the student’s situation.
Mrs. Miller

A hype beast who's always looking out for himself. He may come across as threatening, but deep down, he's a coward who will do anything to get out of trouble. Ting’s clothes serve to him as a way to show out his wealth.
Ting

Because this film is set in a private high school, I determined an uniform to serve as a base for all of the student’s outfits. The uniform was composed of either a white button up or a blue-green polo, paired with black pants or a black pleated skirt. From there, elements were added to some characters who needed to stand out. This included Ting and Shulan, as well as Olivia, an stereotypical “ instagram perfect” girl and Aaron, a classic jock.
