ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS
A strange order request brings June, a young delivery driver, to a bizarre underground music venue, where she experiences a night of magic. This short film follows a magical surrealist plot light with both night and day shots, as well as a section in black and white.

At first presented as a young boy, Don reflects the film’s dream-like surrealisms, as he changes age from scene to scene. This allowed me to play with the fit of his costumes and required multiple sizes of each piece.

The band are a group of cool and care-free musicians who play in a mysterious underground venue. Koko, the lead singer, has a big, whimsical personality and contagious energy
Koko and the Band
Part of the plot included the characters themselves creating a movie. As they watch it the film mixes with their reality, once again bringing that dream-like aspect. The goal was to create a caricature like office environment, which June would enter with her normal clothes . Because this section was shot in black and white, it required a different approach to the costumes. Some of the decisions I made included changing the actual color of June’s hoodie, using green tones in some of the suits and shirts, and choosing fabrics that had a bit of texture.
